Every year since Nathan and I have been married, we have gotten each other new ornaments for our Christmas Tree. We love all our old ornaments that our moms let us have, and love to sit and talk about memories they bring back each year as we unwrap them from the tissue paper. But since our first Christmas as a married couple, we had decided that we wanted to add some new ornaments to our collection each year. So we decided that we would purchase an ornament for the other person that has some significant meaning about that year. For me, it is so much fun to go shopping and look for that perfect ornament for Nathan. I love to look at all the different ones that come out each year, but when I see that "perfect" one, I start to tear up. It is amazing to me that someone out there was able to create a figure that would capture something so meaningful for us, that when we take it from its wrapping in years to come, memories from that particular year will come flooding back. We usually give our ornaments to each other early so that we can enjoy them on our tree. Nathan decided tonight was the night he wanted me to open mine. I was so excited. When I opened it, I new that I would remember this year and the memories we have had whenever I look at it. He got me a Willow Tree ornament- Sign of Love. When I opened it, he says to me, "I just want you to always remembver how much I love you and what you mean to me." I love Willow Tree figures so it is very appropriate that he got this kind. But because it was labled "sign of love", meant so much more. Nathan and I have been through our share of hard times in our many years together, but they only seem to make our relationship stronger. As his wife, it is rewarding for me each time he announces his love and commitment to me. So to have an ornament that portrays that very thing, will always mean so much to me. So to my husband (if you are reading this), Thank you for never giving up on me and loving me for who I am. I love you!
