Trip to Chicago

Nate and I spent last weekend together in Chicago for a Marriage conference. It was one of the best weekends for us. We left early Friday morning and spent a few hours on the Magnificent Mile, then headed to a suburb of Chicago for the Conference. The conference was really what we needed. They basically tell you all the stuff we already know, but sometimes forget to do in our marriage. Saturday night was a date night so we went to this amazing restaurant and ate way to much food. We had a lot of great conversations and just enjoyed being able to spend time together without interruptions. But let me tell you this, we really missed those two that make the interruptions. Thanks to my mom and sister for coming down and spending the weekend with the Monkey and Love Bug. On the last day, right before they dismissed us to head home, they made us stand and look at our spouse in the eyes. They had us repeat our vows to one another, this was unbelievable. There were 700 other people in the room with us and at that moment, it was just Nate and I, it was perfect. We both left the room in tears as did all the other couples. One thing that I am working on now that we are back from the conference is to love my husband more and make sure that he knows that every day, even every hour...he is a gift that God gave to me and I never want to take that gift for-granted.
