Back in November, Blake had Grandparents Day at school. When I first got the note from the teacher about the details, I wasn't sure what we would do since both Nathan and I's parents live almost 4 hours north of here and the big day was on a Tuesday. I knew that we would not be able to make it work for one of them to make it here for his special day. But we have the most wonderful woman in our lives. She has been a part of us since we started attending Mason. Sandy is like a second grandma to my kids. She means the world to us and she loves us like we were her own. I remember sitting in the church nursery with her every Saturday night talking about Blake before he was even born. Then, she held him every Saturday night in the nursery once I started working there. She is a very special person and I am so thankful that she has taken us under her wing. So I knew right away that I needed to call her to see if she was available to be Blake's special guest. She was so excited when I told her about it. I think she was just as excited as Blake was.
They had a great afternoon at the party....lots of food, fun and crafts. She told me on the phone the night before as we went over details that she wanted to take Blake after school was over and go on a special date just the two of them. They went to Run Jump and Play which has inflatables and games to play. It also has a Build-A-Bear as well...Blake was so excited when Sandy said he could make one. He of course picked a dog so that it could be friends with his other Build-A-Bear dog. And to top it off, he picked the baseball outfit out for the dog to wear and named him......yep....Joey Votto!!! (the kid is border line scary when it comes to being a fan of Votto). Sandy dropped him off at the church around 5 pm that night and he could not stop talking about all the fun he had!!!!
Thanks so much Sandy for a great day. We all love you so much and are grateful to have you as part of our family!!
