Being die hard Red Fans, it was a difficult decision to sign with the Phillies, but what better team to sign with then last years National Champs! We got the call a few weeks ago that Blake would be playing for the Phillies for Baseball this season. When he found out he was so excited about knowing he was going to be playing but not the fact that he had to play with the Phillies. He asked if he could still wear all his Reds gear that he had. The kids is hilarious. The last few practices have been cancelled because of weather so this Saturday was his first practice. Saturday morning I was getting ready to go somewhere and I called him up to my room. I wanted to talk with him about how excited I was for him and to see what he was thinking. He was so excited but said he was a little nervous. He wondered how much the other kids had been practicing and if he would hit a home run. Like I said, Blake is a die hard fan and is in the basement practicing every night. He has his T-Ball set that Grandma Melanie sent him that he uses, then he is catching grounders that he throws against the wall and catches and a ton of other drills that Nathan helps him with. It was so cute to hear him talk about it. So before we finished we sat on the bathroom floor and I prayed with him. I was so excited for him and wished I could have gone. I was not able to go but had minute by minute updates through text from Nathan!!! Blake did AWESOME!!!! Nathan was sending pics and videos of the morning. Made me tear up to think that my baby was out there playing and doing so well. I am excited to see what this season will bring. This coming weekend is the Big parade and then a scrimmage and he is pumped that he gets to wear his uniform for the first time.
