Mother's Day

Mother's Day was great for me this year. After church, all I really wanted to do was come home with a big bucket of KFC Chicken and be outside. Well, Nate talked me out of the KFC and we went to Outback instead. Lunch was delicious and the kids did awesome! We came home and just relaxed for a while, Mckenna and I watched a movie and took naps on the couch while Nate and Blake played ball outside. We went for a walk after dinner and just enjoyed the beautiful weather.
There are days when I think that the kids will just send me over the edge. But it's when I look into their big blue eyes that I think, "What would I do without them?" I love to hear them giggle, I love to see them playing together, I love to listen to Blake read books all by himself, I love to watch Mckenna play with her Baby Kate doll and so much more. The two of them bring so much joy that it out weighs those really tough days.
Each of the kids had made me a gift at school and several cards. I loved them. Nathan got me an ipod Shuffle to use while I work out in the mornings!!! I was so excited about it!

I got to talk to my mom on the phone for a few minutes as well. Words can't explain what she means to me. I always remember saying growing up, "I can't believe my mom says that, or does that." I am that mom now saying and doing those exact things, and I must say......I would not change it for the world. Thanks mom for being the example you are. I love you.
My mother-in-law is pretty awesome too I must say. I really lucked out in that department. I couldn't ask for a better mother-in-law. I love our talks and that she is always there when we need her. She has such a big heart, I can only hope that I take on some of her personalities as I get older. Thanks Melanie for being you! I love you.
