A Needed Reminder

I am sure our kids would have told us this
 themselves if they could.
Our kids want us to have fun
and be completely in love.
It makes them feel safe and secure as a family.
For Nate and myself, it’s easy to make sure we are doing the best thing for our kids by putting their needs first and prioritizing our life around them. Honestly though- I think if they could, they would say to us - “Go ahead Mom and Dad. Have fun. Go out on a date. Enjoy each other. We want you two to be head over heels in love. Go to bed before us. We will give ourselves a bath and tuck ourselves in.” (Ok so maybe that last part wouldn't be said, but it was wishful thinking right?)

Nate and I have been so busy with the house and trying to organize our lives after almost 3 months of not being in our own home. We have not had anytime for just the two of us. We rarely go on dates anymore, but we are ok with that. We love being with our kids. When we aren't with them, we miss them and are not really sure what to do without them. When you have two kids and both work full time, it is hard to find a spare minute for ourselves. The last "date" we went on was to dinner for our 6 year anniversary back in July and I am sad to say we were only gone two hours. What can I say, we are not big party people!!!

So a couple of days ago, Nate comes to me and says, "Hey, you wanna go see Michael W. Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman in concert in October?" "Uh!!! YEAH!!" was my response to him. So we got a sitter and we are going on a date. I do believe this one will last longer than two hours. I am so excited to spend time with just my husband. Thanks babe for taking me out!!!!
I can't wait!!!
