Songs from the past

Every night we have a routine at bedtime of many things with the kids. One of those is singing songs with them. Well, I was getting tired of singing the same songs with Blake so I tried to think of ones that I used to sing when I was younger. I have shared several with him and he loves the new ones. The other night I shared this one, not one of my favorites but an easy one for him to learn and remember, 'She'll be coming round the mountain'. So I sing through it a couple of times added a few of the verses for fun and finished with the main part one more time. By this time he knows the words and is singing with me. After we finish he looks at me and says with a very pondering look on his face, "Who is Shelby?" I looked at him funny and said "What?" He repeated the question, "Who is is Shelby? You said 'Shelby coming round the mountain.' Who is Shelby?" I busted out laughing at this one!!! I then had to explain to him what I was really saying, that it was 'She will be coming round the mountain' and not someones name. I love this kid, he is too funny sometimes.

That's hilarious...My sister's name is Shelby and when we were younger, our preacher used to sing "Shelby comin' round the mountain" every time he saw my sister! :) Haha...what a cute kid!
