Summer 2010

It has been a while since I posted and I apologize to all my family. We have had a busy summer and it is just about over. We have a had a lot of fun as a family, and did a lot of neat things. I did not do a great job at taking pictures like I usually do, but I thought for once, I should be a part of all that is going on with my family instead of always taking pictures and not enjoying everything I can. I do have a few that I will post to show you how our summer went. We spent lots of time with great friends, lots of cook outs, and a lot of laughs. Both Blake and Mckenna have changed so much this summer. Mckenna is saying huge sentences and then multiple sentences on top of that. We actually have conversations with her that make sense. The girl is tough and has no fear in her bones. She can hold her ground against her brother and will not back down. She loves to play with her Baby Kate still, loves Lil Pet Shop, but still can be found playing with SuperHeros with Blake. She loves purses and shoes and usually is wearing a pair of our shoes instead of her own. She is a 110% me in every way but is a daddy's girl all the way. Blake has grown so much and does not look like a lil toddler anymore. He is to smart for any of us and 95% of the day is asking questions about something. The other 5% of the time he is watching Tom and Jerry on TV or playing with his SuperHeros or outside practicing his golf swing with Nathan. In less than a week, Blake will start Kindergarten and I am really starting to get nervous about the whole thing, but so excited for him at the same time. He will be going every day all day and I am not sure I am ready for him to be away from us. We have had a pretty nice set up with the kids being with us at work everyday, and now he will be a good 25 minutes from us. I can not allow myself to think about it all to much or I begin to panic. His preschool teacher has promised us that he is ready for this....but I am not sure I am ready for this. It will not be Blake clinging to my leg that first day not wanting to get on the bus, it will be me not wanting to let go of him.
All in all it was a great summer, we gained a lot of new friends, spent time with old friends, enjoyed time just as a family and even had time to do a few projects around the house. Needless to say, we are ready for Fall to be here and things to slow down a little bit. Below are a few photos of the events I did happen to capture.

I'm not sure why, but I totally CRIED while reading your post!!! I've said before... when you write, it's as if you're spilling the secrets of my own heart. Thank you for being so expressive. Also, for the many updates and photos. It was fun reading about all of your adventures :) HUGS to all of you!!!!!

Wow! So hard to believe the kids are so big, and that Blake is starting kindergarten! It looks like you guys had a great summer. So many cute pictures! And I can totally relate to the idea of just living instead of documenting life (with writing instead of photos). Sometimes you just have to suck the marrow out of every moment, especially when your kids are changing so much so quickly.
