Before moving to Pennsylvania, Nathan was the one to make our meals each night. I was not a fan of cooking or baking so if we wanted a decent meal, Nathan was the one to make it. I just simply did not do well with cooking or baking even when I tried. Everything I usually tried to make came out wrong or burnt. Nathan didn't seem to mind, he enjoyed being in the kitchen and I would take care of keeping the kids occupied, setting the table and cleaning up as he was cooking so there wasn't that big of a mess after dinner.
Well, as we got closer to our move, Nathan mentioned one night that since I was going to be staying home and not working, that I could start being in charge of our meals. UHHHH.....did he even know what he was asking? But I agreed and said as long as he was ok with meals that were quick and easy!
Well, Pinterest has become my best friend along with 3 recipe albums that a really good friend from Mason made us as a going away gift. Patty made these three recipe albums for us. She collected a ton of recipes from several of my volunteers from the Children's Department and organized them for us. We LOVE them! We have pictures, special scripture and notes from the people we were close to and loved. We have had many great meals from these albums. Pinterest has so many options that its crazy. I love that I can find a recipe that looks good, pin it to my board and save it for later. I like that I can keep everything organized and if I like a recipe I can move it to another board so I remember that I liked that one. I think that I have really surprised both Nathan and myself at how well I have done and how many really good meals we've had since being here!!!! I still have a long way to go, but at least we are not starving and living on grilled cheese and tomato soup!
