A few weeks before Halloween, the kids got to decorate their pumpkins with Mr. Gary and Mrs. Zina. They had a lot of fun painting their pumpkins this year!!! They turned out pretty cute!!!
The kids were so excited about going Trick-or-Treating this year. They both picked out what they wanted to be and were ready to go at least and hour before we were able to head out. Blake has been planning on what he was going to be for this night since the week before last halloween. The kid is a planner.....trouble is, he changed his mind about a million times. When it came down to it, he decided he wanted to be Spiderman. I was surprised at this, but thought, "It's his choice!" I thought for sure he would want to be a baseball player again or a Lego, or one of the other million ideas he had. Spiderman had never come up! He still was a cute Spiderman if I do say so myself!!!
Mckenna knew she wanted to be a fairy, so we pieced together a costume and it turned out really cute. I love the mask we found her at Walmart, it was perfect!! She was the cutest lil' fairy that night. She was so excited...she wanted her hair curly and when I told her I would put make-up on her, she got the biggest smile ever!!!
We had a great night and the weather was perfect! We live right on a busy street so we walked to the neighborhood right behind us. It was perfect and everyone seemed to be out in their driveways with their little fire pits and were so friendly. Now you have to know that Mckenna is a girl after my own heart and LOVES candy. To say that she has a sweet tooth is an understatement. Now a lot of these people were handing out your typical halloween trick-or-treating candy. But then there were those houses that were handing out the full size and even some king size candy bars!! At one of those houses, the kids politely walk up to the couple, said "Trick-or-Treat" and were handed a full size candy bar of some kind. They say their "thank yous" and turned around to come back down the driveway. As Mckenna is doing that, she blurts out in a loud voice, "THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER!!!" Everyone started cracking up!!! Yea for her it is the best day ever.....a bucket full of candy just for her!!!
After a few hours, we headed back and dumped the candy on the living room floor and started to organize the candy into like piles. We had a great night and really enjoyed it!!!!
