Happy New Year

2009
This is so hard to believe that it is actually 2009~ where did the last year go? Where have my 28 years of life gone? As I sit here and think about what has happened in this past year, so many thoughts run through my mind. We have had a year of trials and triumphs like most do. With some or our trials I was not sure that we would get through them at all. But with Christ, we were eventually able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. As with our triumphs, Christ was rejoicing right along with us.
Some of our triumphs: Mckenna Brooke stole our hearts as she came into the world in February healthy and strong. We sold our home in June and then had a place to stay while ours was being built. We moved into our beautiful home in September with the help of many friends. We enjoyed many hours of laughter with best friends whom we will love to the end. Spent Thanksgiving and Christmas with our families back home. We had our jobs that kept us humble each week. And for all the trials we encountered, they only made us stronger. As I look back on them now, I understand why God places trails in our lives. There are lessons to be learned from each one, and they help shape us into the people that He has created us to be.
As we begin this New Year, I look forward to what God has in store for our family. I am not sure what to expect this year with all the changes going on in our economy, but one thing I do know is that my trust will remain in Him, the only one that can get us through what is in store. Nate and I did not make any New Years Resolutions this year. Instead, we have committed to reading through the bible along with our church this year. This is something that I am looking forward to and seeing the changes in my life because of it as well as deepening my relationship with my Heavenly Father.
Instead of making a New Year's resolution
Consider committing to a biblical solution
Your promises are easily broken
Empty words, though earnestly spoken
But God's Word transforms the soul
By His Holy Spirit making you whole
As you spend time alone with Him
He will change you from within
