We thought Mckenna would be walking before Christmas, but she continued to tag behind something, along the furniture or with the help of one of us. She has taken 3 or 4 steps by herself every now and then but not to much before losing her balance. Last night while playing in the family room, she gathered the much needed confidence and courage and took about 12 steps all by herself. We were all so excited to watch her and were screaming and clapping. It was so fun to watch her, it brought tears to my eyes. I know that Nate was really excited to see her too as he missed Blakes first real steps. Tonight after work we went to Kohls and purchased her first pair of Nikes. They are so cute on her. We came home and tried them on her and she didn't know what to do in them. It was like all of a sudden she had cement on her feet. It took her a few minutes to figure it out, but she got the hang of it. She was not to fond of them so we will have to keep practicing before going out in public with them. I still can't believe that she will be walking before she turns a year old. Blake was about 14 months so this is all new for us. I love it though, she looks like such a big girl now, walking and drinking out of a sippy cup. What is next? Wanting to sleep in a big girl bed, or wanting to put on make-up? YIKES!

Congratulations, Mckenna! A big milestone for such a little lady. :-) I love following along and watching your kids grow up from afar, Amanda. They are a pleasure.
